My first hospitality job was waiting tables at a Denny’s restaurant in my hometown. While attending college, I supported myself by working as a server—first at a casual steakhouse, then at a resort hotel restaurant, and then at one of the most popular fine dining restaurants in San Diego’s Gaslamp District, where I trained new servers and eventually became an assistant manager. As a server, I enjoyed getting to know local patrons as well as passers-through, an ability that served me well when I moved to a small town just north of Olympic National Park in Washington. There, I managed several lakefront vacation rentals, introducing guests from around the world to the majestic natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
After earning my Juris Doctor degree, I decided that becoming an attorney was not the right path for me. However, I am an attentive listener, an enthusiastic collaborator, and I thrive on learning new skills and taking on new challenges—all qualities that I wanted to bring to the legal field. I got a job as a paralegal and discovered that I enjoy “behind the scenes” legal work very much. Stokes Wagner has been the perfect place to merge my passion for the hospitality industry with my legal education and experience.
When I’m not at work I, enjoy taking my dogs to the park, spending time with my four adorable nieces, listening to audiobooks (mostly historical fiction), and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
